An advice message has been issued by the Country Fire Service for people near Port Lincoln as an uncontrolled fire continues to burn in a south-southeasterly direction towards Western Approach Road, Pine Freezers Road and Blue Fin Road.
If you are in this area stay alert, monitor local conditions and decide what you will do if the situation changes.
At this time there is no immediate threat to life and firefighters are still working to fully contain this fire.
More than 80 CFS fire fighters from across the state are working on containing the fire, with support from local retained MFS fire fighters and an additional 14 MFS fire fighters from outside the area.
Crews are being supported by eight aircraft, including firebombers and observational aircraft, SA Police, MFS, SA Ambulance, SES, local council, farm fire units and National Parks and Wildlife Service.
Fire fighters have worked tirelessly throughout the day to contain the fire to approximately 113 hectares.
The fire started in scrublands south of Port Lincoln and has burned towards Proper Bay, which has impacted on structures and the local waste management facility.
A significant amount of thick, potentially hazardous smoke is drifting across the area and the community are urged to stay inside, limit movement around the area and close all windows and doors.
It's likely this smoke will continue to impact a wider area of the Lower Eyre Peninsula overnight.
The CFS and MFS will continue to monitor conditions.
The CFS is deploying crews from regions one, two and four to assist with relieving crews on the fire ground overnight and into the coming days.
Several CFS and MFS personnel are also being deployed to Port Lincoln to support the Incident Management Teams.
Milder weather conditions forecast for the next 24 hours are expected to assist crews in containing the fire, which is expected to burn for several days.
Roads have been closed due to this incident including Grantala Road, Barley Road, Western Approach Road, Noontina Road, New West Road, Pine Freezer Road, Proper Bay Road, Barley Road and Yandra Terrace.
It is expected that these road closures will be in place for some time.
