The first day of the two-day event saw crowds steadily filter through the gates to take in the 200 exhibitors on site and witness the events such as the yard dogs and the wooldhandling competitions.
President of the event's executive committee Robin Hood said it was a steep learning curve to get the farm fair and show organised, but he was pleased with the result.
"A lot of us are first time committee members so it's been a lot to learn and very quickly before we opened the gates," he said.
"But to be back after a break and see people eager to come in as soon as we opened was a good feeling.
"The weather has been brilliant and we're hopeful we'll see a few thousand people over the course of the two days."
Gates open for day two of the event at 9am today (Saturday).
