Orrie Cowie stud, Warooka, has taken home the top honour in the Karoonda Farm Fair and Show fleece competition with a stud ewe fleece valued at more than $200.

The fleece, which weighed 12.6 kilograms, had a yield of 81 percent, a clean fleece weight of 10.21kg, a clean value of 1980 and a greasy value of 1604 and was awarded the Fleece of the Karonda Farm Fair and Show.
It had a micron value of 17.5, a standard deviation of 3.3, coefficient variation of 19.2 and a comfort factor of 99.6, valued at $202.10.
Orrie Cowie was also named most successful stud exhibitor in the competition.
About 55 fleeces were entered in the competition from across the state, in stud and commercial sections.
Taking home the inaugural award for best team of the competition, commercial or stud, was Geoff and Sue Zacher, Coonalpyn, who also won the commercial fleece of the fair with a 6.9kg entry.
It had a yield of 72pc, a clean fleece value of 4.97kg, a clean value of 2100, a greasy value of 1512 for a total fleece value of $104.33.
It also had a micron of 17, SD of 17.4, CV of 2.9 and a CF of 100.
Convener Wade Boughen said the quality in each section was top notch.
"There were lots of bright, white, crimpy wools, which is what we're after," he said.
"But the Orrie Cowie fleece was a real stand out.
"It was just a big fleece, with good micron, and great yield."

Rounding out the competition, was the school wether section, where Unity College, Murray Bridge, swept the podium.
The school picked up school wether fleece of the farm fair and most successful school wether exhibitor in addition to an award for the collection of three commercial school wether fleeces with the highest average commercial value at $52.67.
The school's 18.9 micron and under fleece had a value of $60.66, while its 19 micron and over fleece had a value of $51.51.
Mr Boughen said he was hopeful the event would have more entrants in 2024.
