The Bordertown branch will offer local door trade, on-farm wool collections and a range of other services.
Quality Wool managing director Mark Dyson said the decision to open a depot in Bordertown was the result of repeated enquiries from growers to local representative Kellsie Turner, Mundulla, who will manage the store.
"It's a great opportunity for Quality Wool to expand our footprint and service growers in a region we've only really touched on in the past," he said.
"It's a great location well known by locals, where we will offer Quality Wool's full marketing services, as well as the ability for growers to deliver wool for auction, or private purchases at the depot.
"We have a forklift with blades available in-store to enable a quick turnaround unloading bales and a rigid truck for on-farm pickups for our clients".
Growers will also have access to the company's 'Wool Wagon', which compliments a fleet of smaller trucks and existing regional carriers in getting wool off farm quickly to prepare for auction or following a private sale.
Long-term Quality Wool client Ryan Kluska, of Kiandra Poll Merino stud, Senior, inspected the depot with his son Angus recently and said the company's expanded service in Bordertown showed their company's "passion for wool".
"Having had a long-standing relationship with Quality Wool, it's great to know the people who own the business, and to see the genuine interest that they and their staff have in my success," he said.
Mr Kluska's wool representative Ms Turner said demand from local woolgrowers had led to the new depot's establishment.
"After all the interest we had, it just logistically made sense to open a receival depot in the town and the site is perfect for us," she said.
