Numbers jumped at the Ouyen, Vic, Livestock Exchange sale with 14,331 offered.
This was the only market held at Ouyen within a six-week period, with the Easter and Anzac Day public holidays impacting sales.
There were 9333 lambs and 4998 sheep yarded and all categories trended as much as $10 to $15 dearer than the last market in early March.
Export quality older lambs sold from $167 to $229 ($6 to $6.80 a kilogram); trade lambs were $115-$165 ($5.80-$6.50/kg) and store lambs reached $110.
DL&AG Bury, Wudinna, made the trip from Eyre Peninsula with 105 crossbred lambs, which made the market top of $229.
NF&BT Templeton, Chinkapook, Vic, sold 51 crossbreds at $228, while Andersons o Bronzewing, Bronzewing, Vic, received $226 for 82.
W Schultz, Mittyack, Vic, had 43 lambs make $222; P&B O'Brien, Speed, Vic, had 54 make $220 and Hall Farms, Mittyack sold 73 at $219.
Light Merino lambs reached $98, while heavier runs sold as much as $234, paid for a run of 225 from Wegner Bros, Karoonda.
O&M Solar, Ouyen, sold 50 Dorper lambs at $220, while P Vallance, Tempy, Vic, had 34 make $190 and T&M Crozier, Wargan, Vic, was paid $180 for 21.
In the older sheep, lighter runs reached $76 ($2.20-$3.60/kg) while heavier runs sold to $117 ($2.20-$3.40/kg).
Fos Downs, Karte, Vic, sold 25 sheep at $117, T&S Monaghan, Tempy, sold 32 at $114 and BA&KL Adams, Broken Hill, NSW, made $113 for 137.
The next scheduled sale will be on Thursday, May 9.
