Announced last week, the event is slated to be held in 2025, with specific dates and acts not yet announced.
Henry Carter, Mount Pleasant, is organising the event and has a wealth of experience in the space, helping organise events such as the Barossa beer and Wine Festival.
"The plan was to have a country music festival somewhere, we were looking at possibly Birdwood originally and then some other areas in the Hills but a friend of mine let me know about the opportunity to have something at Mount Remarkable and we figured that was an opportunity that couldn't be missed," he said.
"I'm a fan of country music myself so I wanted to bring some kind of country music event to the regions and this was the perfect opportunity.
"There are international country tours in the cities, but at the end of the day it's nice to see it go back to the roots of rural Australia where it comes from.
"Especially with the popularity with Tamworth as well as country music around Australia so it's nice just hold festival under the stars at Melrose."
Mr Carter said location will be the perfect backdrop for the major event, and he hoped it would be another feather in the cap of tourism in the region.
The event is being held in conjunction with the Melrose Caravan and Tourist park, which plays host to numerous events over the year and has a healthy mountain biking reputation.
"My goal is not just to make a music festival," Mr Carter said.
"There's a lot of elements you need to look at to make it an experience.
"The country music is just one part of a bigger event."
The event follows in the footsteps of the former Rock the Mountain festival held at the site.
